چکیده

In this paper, we propose an algorithm for computing and maintaining recently frequent patterns which is more stable and smaller than the data stream and dynamically updating them with the incoming transactions. Our study mainly has two contributions. First, a regression-based data stream model is proposed to differentiate new and old transactions. The novel model reflects transactions into many multiple time granularities and can automatically adjust transactional fading rate by defining a fading factor. The factor defines a desired life-time of the information of transactions in the data stream. Second, we develop RFIMiner, a single-scan algorithm for mining recently frequent patterns from data streams. Our algorithm employs a special property among suffix-trees, so it is unnecessary to traverse suffix-trees when patterns are discovered. To cater to suffix-trees, we also adopt a new method called Depth-first and Bottom–up Inside Itemset Growth to find more recently frequent patterns from known frequent ones. Moreover, it avoids generating redundant computation and candidate patterns as well. We conduct detailed experiments to evaluate the performance of algorithm in several aspects. Results confirm that the new method has an excellent scalability and the performance meets the condition which requires better quality and efficiency of mining recently frequent itemsets in the data stream. 2006 Elsevier Inc. Mining Frequent Patterns in Uncertain and Relational Data Streams using the Landmark Windows

Todays, in many modern applications, we search for frequent and repeating patterns in the analyzed data sets. In this search, we look for patterns that frequently appear in data set and mark them as frequent patterns to enable users to make decisions based on these discoveries. Most algorithms presented in the context of data stream mining and frequent pattern detection, work either on uncertai...

Mining Frequent Co-occurrence Patterns across Multiple Data Streams

This paper studies the problem of mining frequent co-occurrence patterns across multiple data streams, which has not been addressed by existing works. Co-occurrence pattern in this context refers to the case that the same group of objects appear consecutively in multiple streams over a short time span, signaling tight correlations between these objects. The need for mining such patterns in real...

A Study on Distributed Frequent Co-occurrence Patterns Algorithms across Multiple Data Streams

With the era of big data coming, the data streams are fast, continuous, and unbounded. The real-time requirements of the data streams processing results are very high. A large number of researches have been on Frequent Co-occurrence Patterns across multiple data streams. But those algorithms are centralized, which is worked on a single compute node. The memory of a single compute node and CPU c...

Cost-Efficient Mining Techniques for Data Streams

A data stream is a continuous and high-speed flow of data items. High speed refers to the phenomenon that the data rate is high relative to the computational power. The increasing focus of applications that generate and receive data streams stimulates the need for online data stream analysis tools. Mining data streams is a real time process of extracting interesting patterns from high-speed dat...

A Regression-Based Temporal Pattern Mining Scheme for Data Streams

We devise in this paper a regression-based algorithm, called algorithm FTP-DS (Frequent Temporal Patterns of Data Streams), to mine frequent temporal patterns for data streams. While providing a general framework of pattern frequency counting, algorithm FTP-DS has two major features, namely one data scan for online statistics collection and regressionbased compact pattern representation. To att...
